I'm Rich, Bitch!

One of Dave Chappelle's most popular catchphrases is "I'm rich, bitch!" No, he doesn't say it to be disrespectful toward women. He uses it as snobbery to assert his authority and superiority.

Here's the thing though. Dave Chappelle really is rich. The $50 million contract he signed with Comedy Central is a matter of public record.

So, here's the question: When you hear internet marketers and so-called gurus bragging about how much money they make, do you believe them? Or do you think they're full of crap?

Please share your honest thoughts.

Hi David:

I found your "reply" on Startup Nation today and wanted to email you and subscribe to your Blog. However, your blog page does not allow me to "subscribe" and I can't find a way to connect with you through any of the "social networks" I belong to like Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. Your topics of discussion interest me greatly and I would like to receive your posts through my email. Is that possible? Please advise...

In my business (Virtual Assistance) I provide many marketing services to my clients. I am forever attending eSeminars and Webinars on the subject to learn many more ways I can service my clients. In answer to your post, I get numerous emails from Internet Marketers who profess to be guru's and make many promises...the only ones I pay any attention to (or believe) are the individuals who have taken the time to exhibit their expertise in an on-line eSeminar or Webinar. I have listened to their presentation and if they are knowledgeable and have facts and stats in their presentation, I am much more inclined to believe they whereof they speak...

Hello Diane:

Thanks for your comment! I'm not quite sure why you're not able to subscribe to my posts, since no one else has reported a problem subscribing. I also can't detect any technical issues on my end.

Do me a favor, and try subscribing again. If you're still not able to subscribe, let me know and I'll e-mail you each time I make a new post.

Thanks, Diane!

I'm like you, Diane. I believe in verifiable proof. For example, if I see a marketer always at the top of the NY Times best-sellers list, it's pretty obvious he or she is making money.

Thanks for responding David. Most blogs I subsribe to have an option on the page that invites me to subscribe and enter my email addr. Your page does not - maybe because of the Blogger program? So I successfully subscribed to an RSS feed to my Yahoo/Rogers page. I just prefer receiving blog posts directly to my email. Then I am assured of seeing them on a daily basis instead of having to open up Explorer and seeing the RSS feed on my Home Page. I use Wordpress for my blog and I believe there is an option there for people to subscribe on my page.
