Because my marketing consulting business keeps me so busy, I don't have a lot of free time. But when I do have some rare free time, one of the things I enjoy doing is observing people.
For example, the other day I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things I needed, and I found myself observing people shopping.
They'd go from aisle to aisle, find what they needed, put it in their shopping cart and head to the checkout counter. The entire process is really the essence of simplicity.
I thought to myself, "That's how all e-commerce websites should be designed. Customers should be able to quickly and easily find what they need, put it in their shopping cart and head to checkout. The whole process should be as easy as shopping in your local grocery store."
What about your website? How easy is the buying process? How easy is it for customers to quickly find what they need and checkout? More importantly, could you make the process even easier?
To find out, have a few of your friends test your website for shopping user-friendliness. Have them make a small purchase as a simple test. (Don't worry, you can cancel the transaction on your end later).
Getting some honest feedback on the user-friendliness of your website's buying process is a win-win situation for everyone. You make shopping on your website easier and more pleasant for your customers. And improvements you make in that regard will increase your sales conversions.
Like I said, it's a win-win situation for everyone!

Nice analogy,
ReplyDeleteWhen your website is popular enough you can follow the supermarket policy of moving things. Make people look around and they will find new things to buy.
And put some sweet things buy the checkout :-)
Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback!
